Alien's Have Landed

I love coming up with new ideas for projects to make or crafts to try, but I'm not so good at follow-through.  Once a project is partially accomplished - usually to the stage where I can see how it will turn out but there's still a lot of boring sewing between here and finished - I tend to set it aside and start something new and shiny and exciting.

In March I bravely posted a picture of all my Un-Finished Objects (UFO) with the vow that I would not buy new supplies or start new projects until I had finished at least a few of the unfinished ones.  Well . . . after reviewing that post, I realize that none of them have been finished.  None.  In two-and-a-half months.  In my defense, I haven't purchased any new projects either.  I've been piddling around with fabric I received in some swaps so I don't feel too guilty.  But I need to make some progress!

To give myself a shove in the right direction, I have joined the "Finish a UFO Challenge" sponsored by Tonya @ The Crafty Mummy.  It's simple - select an unfinished project at the start of each month and finish it by the end of the month.  Along the way, post updates and give/receive encouragement with other crafters.

For June, I have chosen the disappearing 9-patch quilt for the camper.  All the 9-patches have been assembled and cut to "disappear".
Some of the blocks have even been reassembled.  The goal for June:

  1. Complete all blocks
  2. Assemble blocks into quilt top
  3. Add batting, backing, ties and binding
If you, too, are being abducted by UFO's, visit The Crafty Mummy and join the challenge.

  2. I like the colors of those blocks. I am looking forward to seeing the "FO", :). I have tons of UFOs around hre and really should join that challenge, but I bet it would be yet another unfinished challenge on top of all the others.

  3. Oh wow - this is a great idea. I'm not even all that crafty, yet I seem to have a fair number of UFO's around the house. I like the fabrics on this one - I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project :-)
